Mack was born in Madison, Florida and was son of Ray & Maude Hires.
At a young age he moved to Jacksonville, Fl with his family.
He was a Master electrician by trade. He worked for Paxon Electric for many years and retired from Miller Electric. He was an avid runner. He was always spotted on the beach running. He enjoyed playing golf. But most of all he enjoyed his family. He was a dedicated and amazing husband, father and papa.
Mack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Butler Hires; 3 daughters, Hollye (Gary), Tia & Kerri.
6 grandchildren, Tyler, Tori, Lindsey, Todd, Hollyce, Kennedy. 4 great grandchildren, Brylee, Hunter, Ryder & Elin; brother, Johnny Hires
He was an active member of Neptune Beach Baptist Church.
A private memorial service will be held.
