

Malcone Earl Baggett, Sr., 93, passed away July 31, 2013 at Hadlow Community Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Baggett was raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina and was one of fifteen siblings in which all predeceased him. Mr. Baggett served 32 years in the United States Navy where he held the rate of Master Chief Petty Officer and was a World War II and Korean War veteran. During his naval service, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business. After retirement, Mr. Baggett was a manager with Naval Retail Services at Naval Air Station Glynco and Naval Station Mayport. Mr. Baggett was never idle and had a passion for the outdoors including fishing and gardening.
Mr. Baggett was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Alice Rosalind Baggett (2010), and his two sons, Robert Brooks Baggett and David Samuel Baggett. He is survived by his daughters, Livinnia Baggett and Catherine “Jan” Johnson (Ed); sons Malcome Baggett, Jr. (Min-Su), Marion Addison Baggett (Mary Beth), Carlton Brooks Baggett (Beth), David Anthony Baggett, and Robert Michael Baggett (Olivia). Mr. Baggett is also survived by his grand children, Rosalind “Lindi”, Edwin “E.J.”, Malcome III, Auburn, Autumn, Bryan, Kendall, Robert Daniel, and Annabelle, and great grandchildren, Reece and Julian as well as numerous nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Florida. Special mention is provided to the health care staff of Lifecare Solutions and Cypress Village Rehabilitation Center for their assistance and support during Mr. Baggett’s care.
