Manning S. Leslie died December 31, 2018 at the age of 101. He was born in 1917 to Manning S. Leslie, Sr. and Mabelle Ware. He graduated from Parkview High School in Bay Village, Ohio in 1937. A job opportunity took him to Palm Bay, Florida. There he married Frances Bridgewater in 1940 and remained married until her death in 1958. Another job opportunity took him to Jacksonville, Florida to work at Gibbs Shipyard. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1945. He joined the reserves and retired with the rank of CPO (E-7). He and his second wife, Irma Ware, loved serving the Lord and dedicated many years to missionary work with Campers on Mission. He also worked at Mayport Navy Base as a carpenter. He was a member of Palm Valley Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and was made Deacon Emeritus. He is survived by his daughter Katharine Winstead, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.
