In 1966 she and Nelson moved to Tampa, FL where they resided for 30 years. Mary Lou served and was very active in her Tampa churches at the time: Lake Carroll Baptist and Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. She and Nelson returned to Jacksonville in 1996, residing at Cypress Village Senior Living and served in the Christian Women’s Fellowship and at Beaches United Methodist Church. Later in life she became a devoted and active member of Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church.
