Mary Berryhill Leaptrott

Mary Berryhill Leaptrott, 97 of Neptune Beach, FL, passed away peacefully Friday, August 24, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Millard Leaptrott and son, Wm. M. Leaptrott .

Mrs. Leaptrott was born in Milltown (Lakeland), GA July 23, 1915 to John Withers Berryhill and Ruby Pearl (White) Berryhill. Mrs. Leaptrott graduated from Lanier County High School in 1932. She attended Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA. and in 1935 graduated Florida State College for Women in Tallahassee, FL. Mrs. Leaptrott was a member of the Ponte Vedra Chapter D.A.R., member of the Ribault Garden Club, Jacksonville Rose Society and The American Rose Society. In 1976, she earned a Life Certificate as Senior Judge from the Flower Shows of the National Council of State Garden Clubs. After moving to Helen, GA with her husband, Lester, she became a member of the Garden Club of Georgia and the Soque Garden Club, in White County, GA. In 1980, Mrs. Leaptrott earned her Master Certificate as a Master Judge from the Flower Shows of the National Council of Garden Clubs. Mrs. Leaptrott was a longtime member of the Helen Presbyterian Church and most recently Ocean Park Baptist Church.
