Richard Lee Goff, Sr.

Richard Lee Goff Sr. was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 23, 1933. Richard was a beloved son to Mary Gwendolyn Roche-Goff, Mother and Hugh Charles Goff, Father. Richard was married to Tessa Doreen Perks in 1958, in Coral Gables, FL. Together they had three beautiful children: Jennifer, Karen and Richard Jr. Richard Lee Goff Sr. and Tessa Doreen Perks-Goff divorced April 23, 1979. Richard Lee Goff Sr. was married to Eunice Isabel Upton-Gannon on June 28, 1982 in Coral Gables, FL. Richard Lee Goff Sr. lost his beloved wife Eunice Isabel Goff on December 12, 2005 in Pinecrest, FL. Richard Lee Goff Sr. was a beloved father survived by his son Richard Lee Goff Jr., his daughter Karen Lee Goff and his daughter Jennifer Lynn Goff. Richard Lee Goff Sr. was a beloved grandfather survived by his granddaughter Tessa Lee Goff, granddaughter Jessie Danielle Spruiell, grandson Jonathan Michael Coupe, grandson Justin Goff and great-grandson, George Goff. Richard Lee Goff, Sr. was a caring father figure to Thomas Francis Gannon, son of Eunice Isabel Goff.

Richard Lee Goff, Sr. graduated from Coral Gables Senior High. He was very athletic throughout his school years: was on the football team, swimming team, water polo team, riflery team, and trampoline club. Richard Lee Goff, Sr. was in the United States Army stationed in Fort Jackson South Carolina, Germany to name a few. Richard was a golf instructor at Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club in Michigan. Richard Lee Goff Sr. had a career throughout his life as a business owner of “Goff’s Golf Club Service” in Coral Gables, FL and this was a longtime family business. Richard Lee Goff, Sr. was a master craftsman of custom-made golf clubs. In the 1960’s he made custom clubs for professional golfer Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead and actor Jackie Gleason to name a few. Richard was a true believer that you fit the club to the player, not the other way round. In a newspaper article written about Richard Lee Goff, Sr. he was described as “his kind face and patient manner, he is the guru of golf”. Richard always said “I feel I’m very, very, very lucky as I love to create, I love what I do.”

Richard Lee Goff, Sr. life loves were is wife, his children, his family and his animals especially his cats. Richard Lee Goff, Sr. was selfless, caring, loving, kind-hearted, devoted, supportive, thoughtful and funny. Richard Lee Goff, Sr. was always active in life; loved taking care of his yard, golfing, fishing, sailing and a big part of his life was reading the Bible which he read in it’s entirely three times plus.

Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather our hearts ache as we miss you so; we will always have you with us in our hearts and will always "Love You." We will see you again in Heaven when God calls for us to join you.
