Richard Humphreys

Richard attended Lenape High School in Medford, NJ. He met his wife at Rutgers University where he was a varsity football letterman. He later went on to coach football at Jacksonville University. He also earlier taught high school and was a school administrator.

Rick loved life and loved to see people laugh. He fought through some of the toughest times with a smile and a joke. He was the life of the party. He also loved animals, and would make his name sake, St. Francis, proud after going to take care of stranded pets after hurricane Katrina. His pets Gracie and Henry were the center of the household.

Rick is survived by his wife Denise, his parents Richard and Judith Humphreys of Woodbury, NJ; his Sister Jacqui Viscuse and her husband and their seven children; his brother Tom and his wife and their three children, and his brother Jim and his wife and their six children. He also had two nieces on his wife’s side.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, Feb. 12th from 5-7 p.m. at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
