

He was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 23, 1931. Tom graduated from East New York Vocational High School and received training from Dale Carnegie. Tom was truly a self-made man and was self taught to a degree unattainable for the common person. He was unarguably a man of many talents. He was married to Alice Emma Bahns on June 11, 1949.
Tom had a career in Real Estate, Sales and was an entrepreneur from an early age. The countless businesses he started is an amazing tribute to his fortitude.
He was a member of the Better Business Bureau and a volunteer Police Officer of Babylon, New York.
Tom had a passion for business, psychology, and hypnotism and enjoyed traveling the world, good food and horseback riding. Everyone knew that, if you had a problem, you wanted Tom in your corner. He was always ready to help a friend.
He is survived by children: Thomas Henry Baar, Jr., Donald Allen Baar, and Kimberlee Shelby. Grandchildren: Thomas Baar, Travis Baar, Tyler Baar, Aime Santiago, David Shelby, Lindsey Shelby, Matthew Shelby and Jimmy Shelby.
Tom has joined his wife Alice, his brothers John and Eddy, his sister Lorraine and his granddaughter Kimberly in Heaven.
Memorial services in Celebration of Tom's life will be held on February 24, 2025 at 1:00PM in Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. 904-249-2374.
