

Thomas Francis Gleason, LCDR, USN (Ret), 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2010. He was raised in Manhattan and Queens, New York. At age 17, during World War II, he joined the U.S. Navy, retiring 30 years later as a Lieutenant Commander. A 37 year resident of Jacksonville, he had a rewarding second career as a Radiologic Technologist at the former University Hospital. He was an officer in the local and state Radiologic Technologist Societies.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Angela (Smith) Gleason, daughter Deborah Taylor (Ben) and Susan Gleason, sister, Jeanette Partridge (Robert), brother-in-law, Joseph Smith, and beloved grandchildren, Emily Taylor and Benjamin Taylor III.
The family would like to thank all of Mr. Gleason’s dedicated physicians and practitioners, and the staffs of Memorial Hospital, Mayo Hospital, Specialty Hospital and the Atrium for their wonderful care.
A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 24th in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
