

Son of the late Walter John and Eleanor Probst of Rochester, NY, Walter proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and retired after 35 years of manufacturing management. Walter served his community for twenty years active service with the Skyland, NC Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 1989 with the rank of Lieutenant.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn Huether Probst. Together, they have 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Walter is also survived by his brother, Gerard Probst and his sister, Mary Probst Wilson.
A funeral mass was held 10:30am Friday, June 14 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32256. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Susan B.
