He was 92.
He met my grandma when they were kids and married her when he was 18. They were married for almost 67 years. They loved each other more than I can ever express. Like crazy mad love. Even if he did make her madder than a hornet at times.
He served during WWII. His hope was to fly but his vision wouldn’t allow it.
In 1955, he took his pregnant wife and 3 sons and left New Castle, IN for Florida to provide them more opportunities.
He was an Entrepreneur. Owned several of his own businesses. He was the ultimate salesman and wasn’t afraid of no.
He loved working on projects around the house. Making things nice for Grandma. He enjoyed taking every one of his grandchildren on his John Deer Tractor. He was kind.
And had the most beautiful blue eyes!
As he aged he enjoy playing checkers with his Great Grand children and listening to their crazy stories.
And he always had one heck of a sweet tooth.
I will most remember my PaPa for loving all of us and doing whatever he needed to do to take care of his family.
His funeral will be Monday October 30th at 2:30 at the Jacksonville Veteran’s Cemetery. We are planning on arriving no later than 2:15.
