William DuWayne Holt ("Wayne"), 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on October 30, 2019. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on August 22, 1944. Wayne graduated Derby High School in Wichita, Kansas and attended FJC in Jacksonville, Florida, receiving two AS degrees and he graduated from the Police Academy in St. Augustine, Florida. He married Marie Wilczewski on May 21, 1983 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Wayne served in the US Navy for 20 years retiring in 1981. As a second career, he went to work with the US Postal Service for an additional 22 years. Wayne finally took off his uniform and retired permanently in 2005. He was passionate about his love for his family, hunting, fishing, boating and all other outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marie; daughters, Jennifer and Allyson; son, Shane; grandchildren, Alex, Patricia-Marie, Hailey, Nicholas, Matthew, Lauren and Kathrine; sisters, Judy and Lisa; brothers, Eddie and Jeff.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2019 with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville Beach. Immediately following the service, military honors will be rendered by the US Navy.
