Anita P. Smith, 63, passed away 11/15/2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on 09/02/1957 to the late William "Sonny" Potts and Linda Potts. She worked as an Administrative Assistant alongside her late husband, Doyle Smith, with Southern Marine Chemist Inc. until their retirement.

She was a long standing member, Deacon and Elder at The River at Jacksonville Church. She found happiness and peace through praise and worship at church services and at home. Her faith, testimony, and relationship with Jesus was an inspiration to many and she touched countless lives through community outreach. She gave selflessly to her family, friends and her church, always putting others before herself. Her most treasured times were those spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her garden, decorating her house (and other's houses) and antiquing.

She is survived by her son Adam (Scarlet) Tompkins, and daughter Elizabeth (Mike) Reardon and siblings Jackie (Steve) Sanders, Lori (Bob) Begley and Bill (Christine) Potts; grandchildren John Henry, Christopher, Matt, Josh, Katie, Amanda, Jenny and Mike.

A memorial service will be held at The River at Jacksonville Church, 1820 Monument Rd, Jacksonville, FL on Sunday 11/22/2020 at 3:00pm. In respect of Covid restrictions the service will be limited to family and church staff.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the River at Jacksonville Church, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in her name.

Ms Anita....We are surely going to miss your beautiful smile, your joyous laughter and embraceful hugs. I anticipated spending some time with you at your home, where we would pray and praise our God. I never got the opportunity..... but even better I look forward to seeing you when I get home to Heaven. I can see you decorating God's house. :) Till we meet again my always!
To the family: We pray God's peace and comfort.
