Arthur Richard Deflorin, 75, died March 23 at his home in Jacksonville. Mr. DeFlorin was born in Jacksonville in 1939. He graduated from Fletcher High School and earned a BS degree from Jacksonville University. His entire professional life was spent at IBM, where he retired. Richard lived in Jacksonville all his life as a bachelor, living life to the fullest. His self-sacrificing character and warm, inviting, humorous personality will be remembered by all.
He is survived by his sister Carol Cassetta of Waynesville, Georgia, niece and adopted daughter (sharing guardianship with his sister), Lisa Levesque and her husband Stuart Levesque of Jacksonville. Other relatives include various cousins and their families in Jacksonville and other cities.
A memorial service for Arthur Richard DeFlorin will be held at Hardage- Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N. Jacksonville, FL, at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 5, 2014. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, North Jacksonville.
