

Belen Miclat Quilon of Jacksonville Fl passed away at the age of 89, the morning of April 21st, 2023 surrounded by family and close friends. Born on January 2, 1934 to Candido Miclat and Rosario Abille in Santa Cruz, Zambales, Philippines, she was one of seven siblings (Jaime, Romeo, Federico, Ardie, Miguel, and Nenita). She married her sweetheart, Johnson Quilon, in the Philippines on May 16th, 1964. She is survived by her children Jobel, Jerry, Jun Jun, and daughter-in-law Claire, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Following a brief stay in Japan and Corpus Christi, Texas, she and her 3 young sons settled in Jacksonville Florida preceding her husband's retirement from the US Navy after 19 years. She was employed as a Home Economics teacher in the Philppines and as a child care worker for Christ the King Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Fl, retiring in 2004. Since her retirement, she enjoyed cooking, watching TV, and spending time with family and close friends. She will be sorely and deeply missed by many.
A visitation for Belen will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2400 Mayport Road, Jacksonville, FL 32233. A Mass of Christian burial will take place immediately following the visitation at 11:00 AM.
A committal service will take place after Mass on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
