After graduating from Paxon Senior High School in 1958, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He married the love of his life, Daisy Boatright on July 26, 1963. Benny worked as a truck driver and softball coach and enjoyed playing golf, cruising vacations, mountain vacations, ocean vacations, Fastpitch softball, and bowling. He was a member of the Riverstone Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Daisy Jones Boatright; son, Ron Boatright (Kim); daughter, Renee Cumpton (Robert); one sister; two brothers; son-in-law, David Boatright; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents; one son, Rodney “Frankie” Boatright; two sisters; and two brothers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Road, Jacksonville, FL 32205, beginning at 10 am and going until service time at 11:30. Burial will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218, at 1:30 pm.
