Brently was born on May 30, 2006, to Melissa Jean Gray and Keith Robert Miller. From an early age, Brently had a way of lighting up every room he walked into. He was known for his big heart, his goofy sense of humor, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone he met. He had a gift for making people laugh, often without even trying, and his smile was something you could never forget..
He attended Frank H. Peterson Academy of Technology, where he studied Paint and Refinishing. During his time there, he received several awards and was recognized not only for his outstanding talent and dedication, but also for the pride he took in his work. He formed meaningful connections with his teachers, especially Mr. Jeffords and Mr. Bennett, whose guidance and belief in him meant so much.
Brently carried that same passion and work ethic into his role at NAS Jacksonville, where he left a lasting impression on everyone around him. He took great pride in what he did, and it showed in every detail of his work. In honor of his dedication and craftsmanship, a plaque will be placed on the Blue Angels jet displayed at the base—a tribute that reflects both his skill and the pride he carried in his work.
Beyond his accomplishments, Brently will be remembered most for who he was—a loving son, a protective and fun-loving brother, and a loyal friend. He had a playful spirit, a goofy charm that made people feel at ease, and a deeply genuine heart. Whether he was joking around, lending a hand, or simply being present, Brently made people feel seen, valued, and loved.
He was also a member of Promised Land Baptist Church, where he found faith, encouragement, and a strong sense of community.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but the joy, laughter, and love he brought into this world will never be forgotten.
Brently is survived by his mother, Melissa; his father, Keith Miller of Pennsylvania; his brothers, Nathaniel Gray and Jackson Miller; Nathaniel’s girlfriend, Kendall Burgess; his maternal grandparents, Brian and Susan Dymond of Jacksonville, Florida; his paternal grandmother, Kathy Pugsley Waldron of New Jersey; his uncle, Caleb R. Dymond; his aunt, Jessica D. Dymond (Thomas) of Jacksonville, Florida; and his cousins, Caylee and Chloe Dymond of Cecil, Arkansas.
A celebration of life will be held at the Dymond family home, located at 7622 Brett Forest Drive, on April 22 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks will be provided, and guests are welcome to bring a covered dish or any food they would like to share.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped shape Brently into the kind, loving, and unforgettable young man he became. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—through every shared laugh, every cherished moment, and every life he touched.
