Carl Edward Phipps, 92, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2015 Swannee Valley Care Center surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Danville, Ill on June 22, 1922 to Raymond Vernon Phipps and Alice Edward Phipps who both preceded him in death. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Phipps. He is a United Stated Navy veteran and worked as an aircraft mechanic for Pan American and Eastern Airlines. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved, supported, encouraged and provided well for his family and was cherished by all. Carl was a Christian and faithfully served the Lord as a Southern Baptist in all the cities in which he lived: Miami, Hialeah, San Francisco, New York and Winter Haven. He is survived by his sons Richard Phipps (Barbara), Glenn Phipps (Sharon); grandchildren Allan, David and Jeremy Phipps; step-grandchildren Timothy and Melissa; and great-grandchildren Aiden, Henry and Ayanna.
