Chris spent most of his life in Jacksonville. He was born November 29, 1963 in Angeles City , Pampanga, Philippines. He graduated from Green Run High School Class of 1982 in Virginia Beach, Va. Chris was employed by Mac Papers. He was a very hard worker always working in the yard and around the house.
Chris was a loving and devoted husband, who enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He was predeceased by his step father, Donald E. Abers of Port Jervis, NY who passed away on September 20, 2016. Chris is survived by his lovely wife of 27 years, Yolanda Manalo Batafa; his mother, Remedios B. Abers; his sisters Carlota Batafa and Tamara Abers; his nieces and nephew Catalina, Asia and Amir (Carlota).
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 435 1st. Ave. N, Jacksonville Beach, on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 am with Fr. Joshy officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon at Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00pm with a Rosary Service beginning at 4:00 pm.
