Hello Betty, This is Frank Dascoli from W. O. N. J. As you probably know, Cliff and i knew each other since about age eight.  We knew each other, but we hung out in different arenas.  He hung with the group from Ridge Ave; High St; Watchung Ave - I was with the Whittlesey Ave. (west) Ridge Ave and Franklin Ave. crowd.  We were 'head nodding' friends. After H/S we both inadvertantly joined the Navy.  After discharge, I romed around, trying to find a  'nitch'.  I finally landed in the Police Dept. (as a Police Officer!)  Although I never expected that.  One night I was assigned to an emergency call to an address on High.  My partner and I arrived to administer aid to a woman having trouble breathing.  We administered oxygen and did what we could while waiting for the ambulance.  I then road with her to the hospital.  ThaT was Cliff's mother.  Cliff later found out it was I at the scene, looked for me and finally caught up with me.  He thanked me over and over again.  His mother survived for a couple of weeks - long enough for Cliff to get home and see her.  I just did my job helping some one in need, but Cliff put a higher value on that.  It was at this juncture that he and I became really friendly.  I saw a side if him I would never have expected, and waS truly impressed.  we corresponded almost daqily from them on.  Again, I was impressed with his good nature and positive being.  I only wished I could have seen this years ago, and lived cloaser to him so thst our newly found friendship might have developed Cliff was a 'good guy' and a worthy friend.  I miss him already.  You are a lucky person having hsd the good fortune to have been his wife, partner, friend and confident for all these years.  Bless you and may God keep you sound and safe.

I so am enjoying reading the words of condolence which are still streaming in to Cliff's family
. I just want to share that these messages are some of the most heartfelt conveyances of personal loss that I have ever read, anywhere. I know how special a person he was in my life, but to hear this repeated and repeated in a level of love and respect is so special. These messages are given with such personal feelings of adoration, that it just brings more tears to my eyes. He most definately had a way of personally touching all those who entered his personal circle in life, be it, family, friend or work life. I am simply in awe of the beautiful emotions that are continuing to be expressed here, and are such a beautiful memorial for Betty, Bobby, Scott and family!! It just warms my heart to hear time and time again of the powerful ways that Cliff touched every person lucky enough to have come into his life. I just found out about Cliff's passing yesterday.  I am sorry I didn't go to the funeral.  It is such a loss for me, as it is for many.  Cliff was my boss at Pru for 7 years when I was in my 20's.  He was like a dad to me and helped me through some hard times.  We were out of touch for a while, but got back in touch within the last 10 years.  We have seen each other several times since then and kept in touch by email.  He came to my daughter's play when we lived in Florida and was supportive of my husband also (in the Navy).  He has been my best encourager in my career.  He never hesitated to share with me his confidence in my abilities.  He didn't have to do that, and I certainly needed it.  I will remember his words in the future as I strive to fulfill the potential he saw in me that I didn't see in myself.  And I will miss getting to share with him when I finish my Master's degree and become a programmer again.  I am so sad.  I know it must be very hard for his family because he was such a light and loved them so much.  You are all in my prayers.  I look forward to laughing with him in heaven one day.

Dear Betty, Bobby and Scott, 

I just heard about Cliff's passing and it breaks my heart.  He was such a good man and a wonderful friend.  Cliff was my boss at Prudential and we worked together up until his retirement.  Cliff was one of the finest bosses I ever worked for.  He  always had a story to tell.  I remember he wanted to invent a Dump Rake for all of his leaves but he and I never got around to getting my husband Billy to make it.  He loved his vacations with Betty.  I remember asking one year where he was going and he told me out of the drive way and turn right.  He and Betty loved to travel. Cliff and I lost touch after our retirements but when my husband passed away 2 years ago, Cliff called me and asked "Snoozy how are you doing".  He and Betty were there and it meant so much to me. I know Cliff and Billy are probably designing that Dump Rake in Heaven and we will see them again one day.  He was a precious friend.  May God give you strength in the days ahead. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Words cannot express the shock at learning of Cliff's passing.  May God surround you all with His loving arms of peace and comfort. What I remember about him most was his love of family.  What I also remember  is his love of the Gators.  I didn't know anything about college sports, so he found that he needed to teach me the difference between Florida and Florida State in a hurry.

I learned early on that Cliff was a dedicated family man who loved his wife and children very much.  Bobby and Scott, I hope you find comfort in knowing that your dad was very proud of you both.  And Betty, you were the love of his life.  I feel I watched the boys grow up to be men as a result of our daily discussions.  As our careers took separate paths, our contact was minimal, but everytime we saw each other and schedules would permit, we'd grab a cup of coffee and talk.  It was like we never left.  Cliff was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed.  I feel blessed that I knew him and certainly enjoyed our time of working together. May the pain of his passing soon subside and be replaced by the joy of the happy times you shared with life's experiences.  Cliff will be missed, but never forgotten.  May he rest in peace.

Cliff and I met in Sunday school at the age of 4 and really gave our teachers a "run for their money". We attended Washington Street,Edison and W.O High School together. We  got reconnected recently thru email. It was so good to share the good "old days", political views and inspirational messages. I will miss him as he recently followed my trip to Alaska and commented on places to visit.

Cliff was family in much more a sense than by blood. We grew up on opposite ends of the same block in a neighborhood where people were so close-knit that I was into my teenaged years before I realized that many of them weren't my actual relatives. Cliff went all through school with my youngest aunt. My grandfather was his barber. My great-aunt and Cliff's father had been the best of friends since grammar school and when they couldn't find anyone else to argue with, they argued between themselves—politics mostly, of course. Until a few years ago, Cliff was only a photo of a sailor in his parents' home when I visited as a child. That all changed with an e-mail from him about some hometown mystery novels I had written. We had an immediate and undeniable connection. "We're High Street guys," he used to tell me. "We stand up for ourselves." Then he'd lament how his beloved West Orange [New Jersey] had managed to transform itself into ‘Worst Orange' and just like his father, he correctly cited the culprits to be politicians. But he had his memories—and I can attest that those were very real; not phoney rose-colored ones. He was one-of-a-kind. My wife and I already miss him terribly. We always will.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of “Coach” Wilson. I had the pleasure of being a ball player for him at WDYA. He was such a kind sole and touched my life as a young man. I also had the pleasure of eating lunch with him at times when we both worked at Prudential. He always was happy and loved his GATORS. He will missed dearly!

It is a sad day in our lives when we lose such a good man as Cliff.  Yet we can find peace and comfort in knowing that God is in control and Cliff is now walking with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  Having worked with Cliff for many years at Pru I learned to greatly appreciate his hard work and caring for his co-workers.  I also learned what a great husband, father, grandfather and friend he was.  I will always remember him fondly.

I was sorry to hear of Cliff's recent health struggles and his passing.  I know Cliff was a good friend to many and a really decent human being.  He will be missed for sure and long remembered by many.
