I remember when your mommy first found out when she was pregnant with you, I was so lucky to find out so quickly. She was surprised but was already so excited and over the moon for you. 
After you we’re born, your smile and personality lit up the world. Those beautiful river blue eyes lit up whenever you saw your mama. She is so in love with you. She would always talk about how obsessed she was with you. Nothing ever comes quite as close to that kind of love. You’re her best friend, and will always be. Dear Dakoda,
Though you were a tiny little one here on Earth for a short period of time, your spirit and presence was larger than life. Please look over your family, especially your mommy.  She is so heartbroken and lost without you.  Your bond with her was between just the two of you and from I’ve been told, it was so pure and beautiful. 
I have known your mommy her whole life and If God chose her as your mommy, you were given the best mommy  Earth has to offer. I know that she loves you with all her soul and misses you terribly.

I did  not have the opportunity to meet or hold you, Dakoda, but I feel as though I was able to get a glimpse of your life through your mother’s pictures and stories of love for her baby boy.  She has also shared the pain and grief that no mother should ever endure.  I know your father will hold her while he weeps inside as  your parents have suffered the greatest tragedy - losing a piece of their soul. 

 I know you will be there even though they may not feel you.   Your spirt will guide your brothers and protect them.   You will show yourself through signs, letting your family know that you haven’t left them as your energy stays constant.   You are a river that will continue to flow through everyone’s hearts.

 Your momma became such a dear friend of mine and I love her so much! I never got the chance to meet you but I know how big of an impact you have already made! Seeing your pictures, your milestone updates was something that made me smile. That's something I'm going to miss seeing, you growing. The jokes your mommy and our tiny group of friends used to laugh about while she was pregnant with you are memories I'll cherish even more now. Koda, we miss you and please watch over your momma. I called you my little peanut or my little munchkin. that is what you will always be. I remember the morning that your mommy had you, she was texting me and I was so excited that you were trying to make your way into this earth. I was so happy when you were born. I never got the chance to meet you, but boy did I love you munchkin. I loved getting photos of you from your mommy. Your smile brought such joy to everyone who saw it. and that’s how it will remain. Watch over your momma, daddy, and brothers. Keep them safe. I love you munchkin ❤️

Oh sweet baby boy, I may not have met you but man do I know your mommy. She was so excited when she found out she was pregnant with you. From hundreds of miles away, we could all see her light beam with joy. You and your brothers were and will always be, her entire world. I may have not met you, but because of her, I loved you. I never got to meet this sweet baby boy, but boy is he handsome. I’m sure he’s eating all the baby food he can in heaven and smiling down on his mama, dada, and two big brothers.

Dakoda River.. you guys put endless hours of thought, debating countless names, revising and editing again and again into that one beautiful name for a beautiful, incredible boy. And oh how you questioned if you would ever find that just right name for your just right son... But you did and its perfect - his sweet soul ebbed and flowed into everyone he met and his smile touched the hearts of so many. He brought so much happiness, joy and love into life.. but he also brought fulfillment and peace. I pray that one day, Alexa and Kayle, the beautiful memories of your sweet son, Dakoda, bring you feelings of fulfillment and you find peace again knowing you have the most beautiful guardian angel watching over you.

I didn’t get the privilege of meeting Dakoda, however I don’t need to meet him yet to be able to love him. I know and love his family and that alone explains to me who he was and his type of personality. You guys are and always will be in my heart and prayers. I’m not gonna give all the false statements of time heals, and etc.. what I’m gonna say is continue to be the strong, loving, supportive , wonderful family you all are and you will get each other through this. I love all you and I will continue to pray for strength to get you through this and for the long journey ahead of you.. 

In 5 1/2 short months you etched love on so many hearts. Left here on earth we wonder why? But GOD called you to his Grace's, some have spirits meant to fly. You will be forgotten,  never. You will loved, always. Rest peacefully sweet angel.

Dakoda had a smile that could light up a room. Any time I was feeling down I would have Lex send me pictures of him. I would instantly smile and cheer up. He is smiling down on all of us! Love you baby boy.
