Mr. Darrell "Scott" Bridwell, age 63, passed away on September 27, 2025, in Callahan, Florida. Scott was born on March 29, 1962 in Fort Polk, Louisiana and lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida where he attended Andrew Jackson Senior High School. Scott lived a life marked by curiosity, adventure, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Scott was known to many as the life of the party—someone whose presence brought energy and laughter wherever he went. His love for the outdoors was a defining part of his life. Whether casting a line on the river or tracking game from a tree stand, Scott found peace and joy in nature. Over the last decade or so, fishing from his kayak became one of his favorite pastimes—a quiet yet thrilling pursuit that reflected his enduring connection to the water and wilderness.
A lifelong learner with a keen interest in history and the natural world, Scott spent hours immersed in books and documentaries. His passion for learning was matched only by his enthusiasm for sharing what he discovered with others.
Scott’s family held a special place in his heart. He is lovingly remembered by his brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Joy Bridwell; nieces Chelsea (Alex) Long, Chandler (Ian) Gadea-Guidicelli, and Emma (Eduardo) Bridwell; and his aunt Jenny Leonard. He also leaves behind several cousins who shared in many family memories over the years.
Scott’s girlfriend, Donna Wick, was a cherished companion throughout many chapters of his life. He also formed meaningful bonds with Donna’s children and grandchildren, who were an important part of his extended family circle.
He was preceded in death by his father Darrell A. Bridwell; mother Gwen Bridwell; son Joshua Krayenborg; aunt Sharron Bridwell Banares; uncle Richard Leonard; and cousin Renee Jackson.
