David L. Swisher, Jr., age 58, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2019. David was the son of David, SR., and Evelyn Swisher. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend. David worked for many years at the City of Jacksonville motor pool, solving problems, and fixing every kind of vehicle imaginable and making things work like they should. He was a devoted son to his parents and gave his all to caring for them. David was a great big brother and a super fun uncle. David was also a true and loyal friend.
David is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn, and she was waiting for him when he left this earth. He is survived by his father, David Swisher, SR.; sisters Shelia Sendling (Michael), Claudette Bergstrom (Joel), and Caudia Merkey; beloved nieces and nephews Lina Scarborough (Chris), Zeke Sendling, and Lucy Sendling; and many friends, including his best friend James Clark, and as well as other extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. inside the funeral home at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
