Ms. Donna Lumley passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born Donna Yeager on December 2, 1939, and spent her early years living in the King’s Ferry, Florida community.
In the 1950s the Yeager family moved to Jacksonville. Donna graduated from Paxon High School in 1957. She tried her hand at several careers, finally retiring from the City of Jacksonville at the age of 60 after a tenure of twenty years.
Donna Lumley is best remembered for her lifelong dedication to comforting and uplifting others and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through words and especially through service. She taught Sunday School to hundreds of students, young and old, and spent countless hours helping the churches she belonged to.
She was married to her beloved husband, Jack Lumley, for 40 years. Mr. Lumley passed away in 2009, but she is survived by her sons, Charles Edward Dechman and Tim Lumley, as well as a loving extended family. She will be missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on August 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Primitive Baptist Church, 702 Dellwood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32204.
