Doris Anne Bowen

Doris Mueller Bowen born October 12, 1929, left this earth on the wings of angels on February 25, 2017 and was welcomed into heaven by those who loved her first. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Harry William Bowen, Jr. (her “Buddy”) and her parents, Walter Frederick Mueller and Annie Carroll Mueller. Today they are rejoicing together for eternity.

Doris was a devoted wife and mother and her children were the jewels in her crown. Her home was one where all the neighborhood children were welcomed and loved. She was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL and a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in 1947. Doris was active in her faith community as a member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) at Resurrection Catholic Church.

She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy her children, Harry, III (Fara), Walter (Keith), James (Jodi) and Katherine Bowen Orme; her grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Mary Bowen, Stephanie Bowen Preshlock (Robert, Jr.), Melissa Bowen, Cameo Orme Spencer (Gabe), Sierra Orme, Miranda Bowen and Hinson Bowen; her great-grandchildren Christina Davis, Austin Davis, Blaiden Spencer, Robert Preshlock , III and William Preshlock and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or to the charity of your choice in honor of Doris M. Bowen. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, March 2nd at 11 AM at Edgewood Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
