

Doris L Perkins, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Doris was born on April 3, 1926 in Palatka, Florida to Arthur J. and Nora (Green) Livingston. Doris grew up in West Palm Beach. She moved to Jacksonville and attended Lee High School. She was married to J. W. Atkinson from July 24, 1947 until he passed away in 1978. Together, they had three children, Debby, James Jr. (Bo) deceased, and Regina. Doris lived out a real faith in Jesus Christ which she left as a heritage to her family. She was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 47 years where she also served as the High School Girls Sunday School Teacher. Doris was an accomplished seamstress who used her abilities to bless the people around her. She never missed a sale at Dillard’s or Belk, and she passed her perfect sense of style and frugality on to her two daughters. Anyone who knew Doris experienced her sweet demeanor, her selfless love, and if necessary, her fighter’s spirit. Doris’s deep love for and devotion to her family is a legacy that lives still. Doris married Charles Perkins on Nov 5, 1988, and they were happily married for 25 years. They enjoyed traveling together and visited all of the United States with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband Charlie Perkins; her two daughters and their husbands Deborah and Tommy Belisario and Regina and Rick Adams; two brothers Jim Livingston and David Livingston; six grandchildren – Robin and Craig Schuster, Brooks Burt, Rick and Jamie Adams, Amy and Ryan Spencer, Ryan Adams, Anna Adams; and eight great grandchildren – Cody Burton, Alis Schuster, Adie Adams, Drew Adams, Landry Spencer, Luke Spencer, Lawrence Robert Spencer. Family will receive family and friends at 9:00 am with the Service starting at 10 am, Monday, November 25, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, (904) 781-9262, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com . Internment and Graveside Service will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens at Trinity Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Adams of Greater Portland Baptist Church, Portland Oregon.
