She was born December 2, 1923 in Toronto, Canada and moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida when she was a young girl. She graduated from Tarpon Springs High School in 1940 and attended the University of Tampa on a music scholarship, as she was an accomplished musician.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, George Zatyko. Doris is survived by her children, Karen (Joe) Shepard, Rosanne (Mitch) Reanier, Donna Zatyko and Darryl Zatyko, grandchildren Erin (Frank) Albano, Ashley (Roberto) Hernandez, Kyle Bunnell, Jeremy Reanier, Lindsey Reanier, Lara Shepard and great-grandchild Sydney Bunnell.
A brief graveside service, followed by a Celebration of Life in the reception hall, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville FL 32225. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Ft. Caroline Gardens as well as everyone associated with Heartland Hospice. Doris called them her Angels.
