
Edward Arthur Kenney, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on November 28, 2025. Born on May 28, 1942, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Edward lived a life grounded in integrity, love, and adventure. A dependable and honest man with a spirit as wide as the adventures he loved, he was cherished for his willingness to help others, his adventurous nature, and his strength of character.
Edward was a proud Master Cheesemaker, skilled in a craft that reflected his patience, precision, and dedication to excellence. Beyond his professional life, Edward found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures that shaped his world—fishing (especially ice fishing), hunting, beading, reading, and spontaneous travel. Whether it was packing up for an unplanned road trip or setting up camp with family, he found peace and laughter in every shared experience. He had a particular fondness for live music and treasured many evenings surrounded by tunes that lifted his heart.
Family was the cornerstone of Edward’s life. Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline, who stood by his side through every challenge and triumph. Together they built a life bound by warmth and shared memories. Edward will be lovingly remembered by his children Daniel (Fatimah Masales) Stripes, Debra (Larry) Coenen, Denise (Lee) Gassner, Edward (Josie) Kenney II, Kimberly (Craig) Maddox, James (Tina) Williams, Robert Williams, and Diamond Williams; his siblings Michael Kragel, Thomas (Donna) Kragel, and Marge (Jim) Welshons, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
Edward was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Kragel, his father, Ralph Kenney; his mother and stepfather Marion (Arthur) Kragel, his first wife, Sharon (Davis); his second wife, Susan (Dobson); and a grandson, Joseph Zuehlke.
Edward was a strong man who gave his heart and love to his large, diverse family and always knew how to appreciate the simple wonders and endless world around him. He lived a full life defined by hard work, adventure, an unwavering devotion to his family and the simple joys that brought him happiness. Edward's memory will live on, steadily as the life he so admired.
The family is being assisted by the Hardage - Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida. Further details regarding the celebration of life will be shared soon.
