Evelyn Kathleen Midyette

Evelyn Kathleen Midyette "Kitten", age 54, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, February17, 2014, at Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Florida. Evelyn was born October 7, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida to Lee Albert and Evelyn Colleen (Waters) Midyette, both of whom preceded her in death. Her stepfather, Richard Edward Palczewski, still resides in Jacksonville. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Reuschel and step daughter Christina Sykes; three sisters Martha Bagby (John), Angela Kessey, and Peggy Baker, one grandson Tyler Lavelle, three nephews, John R.L. and Blake Bagby, Jimi Vance; two nieces Shaun and Tracy Kessey; Jaime Vance, one great niece and nephew, Kayann and Gabriel Farraj. She had a very special little boy close to her heart; Dameon Rashad Cross Jr."Little D". She loved a very special lady with a huge heart, Dorothy Bennett. She also leaves behind some long life friends, Frances and Sue Baker, Ann Klein, and Hilda Brugh. Kitten leaves behind her two precious dogs Champ and Daisy Mae and her two cats. She had a profound and deep love for animals and rescued many of them for their companionship. Evelyn also enjoyed children and spending time with them always put a smile on her face. Pallbearers are John R., John R.L., Blake Bagby, Jimi Vance, Kaleb Cooper, and Spencer Lairsey. Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will follow the visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations towards local pet rescue shelters.
