Francis P. Smith “Pete”, 77, passed away on November 22, 2011. He was born on October 21, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. Pete served in the U.S. Navy and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a wonderful husband, father, Papa and friend. He was a longtime member of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and NATP. He had a Masters Degree in Accounting and was a professor at Jones College. Pete was a true gentleman and was loved by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his son Francis Smith, Jr.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Patricia Smith; daughter Karen Prescott; son Richard Smith; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011. Funeral mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 28, 2011 all located Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 1:30PM to Jacksonville National Cemetery.
