Born on August 13, 1940, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Louis and Felicia (Glen) Rosivach. He married and raised his family in Linden, New Jersey, where he was a proud parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church. Jerry was active in the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus, serving in many positions including Grand Knight.
In 1988, his career with CSX brought him, his wife, and daughters to Jacksonville, Florida. There, Jerry continued to live out his deep faith as a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister, offering his time and heart to his parish community.
Jerry was a lifelong sports enthusiast and a passionate golfer who, despite carrying a handicap of over 40, proudly achieved the rare feat of a hole-in-one. His humor and joy were contagious, especially on the golf course, where he brought smiles to everyone around him. For many years, he dedicated himself to coaching youth baseball in Linden, shaping young athletes with patience and encouragement. As one of the original Jaguars season ticket holders, he enjoyed watching live football. Above all, Jerry cherished his grandchildren—more than even his beloved rum chaser. He embraced his Polish heritage with immense pride, and one of his greatest honors was serving as Grand Marshal of the Pulaski Day Parade in New York City in 1984.
He was predeceased by his son, Gary Rosivach (1965), and by his brothers, Richard Rosivack (2013) and Ronald Rosivack (2021). He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Catherine Amoroso Rosivach; his children, Christopher and his wife René Rosivach of Rhode Island, Lisa Crotsley of Florida, and Marie and her husband Robert Busch Jr. of Florida; and his cherished grandchildren, Morgan and Katherine Rosivach of Rhode Island, and Robert III, Abigail, and Megan Busch of Florida.
The service for Jerry will be held at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday, December 3. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with a reception immediately afterward.
Jerry was truly one of a kind. A loving husband, father and grandfather. His gregarious spirit will be missed by all but never forgotten.
