

She spent 26 years working with the Jacksonville Sherriff’s Office as a 911 telecommunications officer – Emergency Management and retired as a Sergeant. After a brief 12-year retirement she went to work for the Florida Highway Patrol for 14 years as 911 telecommunications dispatcher where she attained the rank of Duty Officer Supervisor before retiring in 2022.
During her time spent at each agency she developed many amazing friendships, but her favorite thing was being able to dispatch to her husband (JSO) and later her son (FHP).
Martha was involved with 4-H as a child and later helped her mother, Kathleen, with the Jacksonville Fair supervising and judging the rabbit exhibition. Later her son Lance even joined them until 2012 when Martha turned it over to a new generation of 4-H.
Martha is survived by her husband Claude; son, Lance (Stephanie); grandchildren, Brooke, Logan, and Atlas; stepchildren, Kimmy (Tommy), Monday, Jason Sr. (Mellissa); nephew, Michael (Cindy); many step-grandchildren; great grandchildren and her dog Rhonda.
Arrangements are under the Care of Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205(10-4). There will be a visitation October 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM followed by a graveside at 3:00PM at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
