On April 17, 2022, Ingram “Inky” Lawson Walker passed away at the age of 89. Inky was born on April 23, 1932 in Bushy Fork, North Carolina to Voleria Patsy (Wilson) and Henry Thomas Walker. Ingram received his nick name “Inky” as a child from his jet black hair. Inky married Nancy Weyer Roberts on June 9, 1971. Inky and Nancy had 9 children combined; 27 grandchildren; many great-granchchildren; and even a great-great-granddaughter. Inky loved being a Pa-Pa. He was always proud to be called Pa-Pa by all of his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone that would listen to his many tales, including a date with Patsy Cline. In his later years Inky loved racing go-carts and even went by Pa-Pa Smurf due to his short stature.
Inky is preceded in death by his father Henry Walker; his mother Voleria Walker; his sister Rose Walker; his brother Mertis Walker; his sister Irene Pittman and his daughter Cathy McRae.
He is survived in death by his wife Nancy Walker; his children Vickie (Tommy) Marlee, Candy (Robert) Parker, Cindy (Al) Hadick, Rusty (Sheila) Roberts, Ricky (Jeanette) Walker, Renee (Mike) Stewart, Jack Roberts and Wendy (Deron) Dasher; 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; and 2 brothers Dewey (Lilisa) Walker and Calvin (Linda) Walker.
The family would like to offer a special thank you the Clyde E. Lassen Veterans Home. They have given Inky remarkable care the last few years. Also, to the Hospice of Northeast Florida for caring for Inky in his last days.
