Janet Marie Stephens, born on September 4, 1937, passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 88.“Jan” was born in Trenton, Michigan, to Geneva Manzer Burbo and William Patrick Burbo. She was the 4th of 10 children. She married Howard Allyn Stephens and was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for all the years of their marriage. After losing her husband, she began work as a nanny and spent the next 20 years helping to raise children whom she came to love as much as her own. After retiring, she spent most of her time doing those things she had enjoyed most: cooking and baking, and working in her yard with plants and flowers.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stephens, her daughter-in-law, Talitha Stephens, and 8 of her siblings.
She is survived by her children: Susan Barbery (Michael), Allyn Stephens (Ronnie), William Stephens, and Deanna Bailey (Michael); eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is survived by one sister, Carol Tilley. She also leaves behind friends and neighbors who cared for her in recent years, whom she loved dearly.
