Josephine was Born to Rita and George Ruotolo on August 4, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. Josephine, (Jo) attended Long Island Lutheran High School and was among the first graduating class in 1964. After high school Jo worked as an Executive Secretary at the State University of New York (SUNY), Albany. She married Francis K. McCarthy on May 5, 1973. They moved to Centereach, (Long Island), New York. There Jo worked as a Law Office Administrator/Legal Secretary, for many years until retirement and moving to Jacksonville.
Jo is predeceased by: Mother Rita Ruotolo, Father George Ruotolo, brother Joseph Ruotolo. Jo was a devoted caregiver to both her mother and father in their later years. Jo is survived by: Husband Francis McCarthy, brother George (Kimberly) Ruotolo, Nephew Christopher Ruotolo, Niece, Jennifer (Richard) Scanu, and 3 Grandnephews. Nicholas Lethco, USMC, Anthony Ruotolo, and Zachary Lethco.
A private family service will be conducted at Chapel Hill Memory Gardens in Jacksonville, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers consider a charitable donation in Jo’s honor to your favorite charity.
