Kyle L. McDonald

Kyle graduated from Seminary High School in 1970 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 26 years as a jet mechanic. He retired at the rank of AD Senior Chief. Among his greatest accomplishments in service, he was especially proud of his role as a flight deck coordinator, overseeing launch and recovery operations on aircraft carriers. A dedicated patriot, Kyle was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Following his military career, Kyle pursued his lifelong dream of running his own tractor business in Jacksonville. He spent over five years bushhogging, moving dirt, and creating driveways for new homes throughout the area. Later, he returned to military life as a civil service consultant, mentoring and guiding the next generation of jet mechanics for another 15 years before fully retiring in his 60s.

Kyle was a man of many passions. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and cheering for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He especially cherished time spent watching his granddaughter, Cambria, play softball, and nothing brought him greater joy than being with his family.

Kyle was married to his beloved wife, Linda McDonald, for 53 years. He is also survived by his brothers, Tim McDonald and Danny McDonald; his son, Steven McDonald; daughter-in-law, Cheryl McDonald; daughter, Lisa Arturo; son-in-law, Nicholas Arturo; and his cherished grandchildren, Cambria, Kaylen, and Aiden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy McDonald and Colleen (Bucklew) McDonald.

Kyle will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him.

A visitation for Kyle will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.

A Celebration of his Life will occur Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal ceremony will immediately follow on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
