Lawrence Browder, Ph.D., 75, died at home on December 19, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Susan, children S. Lynn Browder of Atlanta, Georgia; Corey Oiesen (Eric) of California; and Albert E. Browder (Keeley) of Jacksonville, Florida; and by five grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Doris Thomas Browder (Bob) of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Harriet Bagwell (Brooks) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and four nieces and nephews.
Lawrence worked as a research chemist at American Tobacco Company and Allied Chemical in Virginia before retiring to Florida. Born in Andrews, S.C., to Albert Crawley Browder and Georgia Gregg Browder, he graduated from Williamsburg High School in Kingstree, S.C. and from Clemson University for his undergraduate and doctoral degrees. He was an unassuming man with a sharp and dry sense of humor, who was much loved by his family. Services were held Saturday, December 27, at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida.
