
Leon Naylor, 82, of Jacksonville peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, September 3, 2012. He leaves to cherish his memory on daughter, Velma Naylor of Norfolk, VA., one son, Leon Denmark and wife Brenda of New York City. Sisters, Margaret Naylor of Frederick, MD., Mary Layer and husband David of Buckeystown, MD. Sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Naylor of Adamstown, MD., and Marie Naylor of Philadelphia, PA. Grandchildren; Marsha Naylor-Faulk and husband Jason of Fayetteville NC, Larshea Naylor of Norfolk, VA. And Brandon Denmark of New York City. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Devoted caretakers nephew Marvin Thompson and wife Cynthia of Land O Lakes Florida, Hattie Johnson, Lucy Avenido and Goddaughter Loretta Abernathy of Jacksonville Florida. In addition to his parents , Mazie V. and Walter C. Naylor, he was preceded in death by brothers, Caldwell, Melvin, Walter, Elijah and Rudolph Naylor; sisters, Mildred Palm, Betty Naylor and Dorothy Thompson. Brother-in-law Samuel Palm and sister-in-law Delrose Naylor. Leon served a total of 21 years in the U.S. Navy and was honorable discharged in 1968. In his military career he served honorably in two wars, Korean and Vietnam wars. After serving his country be became a civil servant employee working at the Naval Service Exchange at Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, for a total of 35 years.
Funeral arrangements have been to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32205.Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Interment will follow in Maryland and a further date.
