After graduating from John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, New York, Tony served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the New York City area where he held several positions before moving first to Lauderhill, Florida and later to Glen St. Mary, Florida.
Tony earned an Associate of Arts degree in Pastoral Studies from Trinity Baptist College. While pursuing his studies, he established The Living Word of Christ Worship Center. The church became well known for its food ministry which helped many in the community. Tony loved to sing and play the guitar. He often entertained seniors at various senior centers with his talents. He managed to do all of this while working as a licensed health insurer.
Tony united in marriage to Lily thirty-four years ago on October 26, 1985. From this union was born their son, Daniel Anthony. Until his illness made it impossible, he thoroughly enjoyed attending Daniel’s musical performances with his school band as well as all of the activities in which his son was involved.
Tony returned to the Lord after a long illness on Saturday, November 16, 2019. He leaves to celebrate his life his loving wife Lily; his son Daniel; his father Joseph and his wife Audrey; his brothers John, Mitchell and Joseph; his sister Christine; his devoted friend and brother-in-law Krishna Singh and sister-in-law, Kumarie. Also holding fond memories of him are his treasured first cousins Tonita Melendez and Sean Melendez (Maria), his loving cousins Gloria, Gail and George Clanton (Gina); other cousins; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
