Lillian “Jane” Thompson passed away on Saturday, June 12th. Jane was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 13, 1927. She is survived by her family: Teresa A. Williams, Capt. Mathew R Williams JFRD (wife Lisa) and Col. Samuel E. Williams ARMY retired (wife Laura) and her beloved cat Tuxie.
Jane moved to Tampa, Florida in 1974. She worked for the oil industry for more than 40 years. Her last employment before retiring was in the accounting office of Mobile Oil Corp.
Jane was a lifelong member of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was formerly of First Christian Church, Tampa, FL. where she served as an Elder and church Treasurer. She became a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Brandon, FL in 2011.
Jane was a former member of The American Business Women’s Association, having served as President of the Tampa Bay Chapter. After retirement, Jane became a member of The Tampa Woman’s Club and a volunteer for Brandon Hospital. An avid Bridge Club member, Jane was a Silver Life Master, and actively participated in games in both Tampa and Jacksonville. To be closer to family, Jane moved back to Jacksonville, FL in 2013.
Visitation Friday June 18, 2021, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park. Conducted be Rev. Karen Billy, minster First Christian Church, Mandarin, FL A private burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.
