away April 14, 2012. Born on June 16, 1922, in
Mayfield, KY, she had been living in Jacksonville
for 10 years. Her later years of working were as a
floral designer and traveling with her husband.
Since her first grandchild was born, she gave each
grandchild so much love and they all knew how
special it was to be in her home. Besides her family,
she loved music so very much and passed the gift of
voice and music appreciation across the generations
to her grandchildren. One of our great joys was to
listen to Mom sing and to listen to music with her.
She was a deeply kind woman who was loved
dearly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her very loving
husband, Bill, her parents John and Ella Proctor,
brother John M. Proctor and daughter-in-law
Joyce Gordon.
She is survived by her sister Jewel Toca of NY,
daughter Barbara Rovedo of Jax, and son Darrell
Gordon of San Diego; grandchildren, Marc W.
LaDoucieur, Jami E. LeFebre (Henry), Kelly Quist,
Anna Gordon, Cory Gordon and Glen Gordon;
and a very special great-granddaughter, Camille
Elizabeth LeFebre; and nephew Daniel C. Proctor
(Jackie).
The family would like to thank all of the caring attendants
at Some Place Like Home. It was there where she spent
the last nine years of her life thanks to the creative vision
of Barbara Tidwell, owner of SPLH.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday,
April 17, 2012, at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills
Funeral Home, 850 N. St. Johns Bluff, with committal
services following in Chapel Hlls Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in
Mrs. Gordon's name be sent to Community Hospice
of Northeast Florida, who were angels of mercy in the
care of our beloved Mom, Grandmom and Great-
Grandmon, who is now in Heaven with God and her
friends and family that went before her.
