Marjean M. Windhaus

Marjean McKendree Windhaus was born on December 18th, 1929. Due to natural causes, Marjean met Jesus on March 30th, 2022 at the age of 92 in Orange Park, FL. Marjean was born at St. Vincents Riverside Hospital and was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Her parents were Raymond and Geraldine McKendree. She was their first-born, and their second-born was Gary McKendree.

Marjean grew up having a love for musicals and roller skating. She met her husband, Marvin Windhaus at the roller rink and were married a few months later. Marjean devoted her life to serving God and her husband. Years later, their daughter Kelly Suzanne Windhaus “Tanner” was brought to Jacksonville, making Marvin and Marjean parents. Marjean was a stay-at-home mom, which made her the best homeroom mom, cheerleader mom, and band mom. She welcomed Kelly’s husband Jimmy Tanner into the family and always called him her son, not her son-in-law.

Marjean, or Gramma, loved her granddaughters Lauren, Shelby, and Sydney. She loved spoiling them and was always there for them. She welcomed her grandson in-laws Sean, Wade, and D’Morea with open arms. Marjean, or GG, also loved her great grandchildren Ryleigh, Clayton, Judah, and Ezra.

Marjean was a great seamstress and cake decorator. She loved her church, she enjoyed reading, feeding birds and squirrel from her backyard. She also was a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Since Marvin’s passing 10 years ago, Marjean has lived by herself in her home and was determined to do so. Marjean moved to Life Care Center at Wells Crossing due to her health last year. Thank you to the entire staff for their time and attention to her care. She always said they’re not just my nurses and doctors, they are my friends. Thank you to Community Hospice for their compassion in serving Marjean and her family in her final days.

Survived by her daughter Kelly Tanner and Jimmy Tanner. Her brother Gary McKendree. Granddaughters Lauren Campbell (Sean), Shelby Williams (Wade) and Sydney Green ( D’Morea).

Great grandchildren Ryleigh Campbell, Clayton Campbell, Judah Green, and Ezra Green. Several Brother in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Geraldine McKendree. Husband Marvin Windhaus.
