

Saturday, April 18, 2015 Marjorie Hagan Jones, 94, departed this world to enter into eternal life with our Lord. The first years of her life were lived in Nassau County, FL. Upon graduation from Hilliard High School, she moved to Jacksonville where she resided her entire life. She was an active member of Murray Hill Baptist for 65 years and an active volunteer of the Murray Hill Civics Center for many years. Her employment included Southern Bell, Moving & Storage and she retired from a position in telecommunications with the U.S. Government. She was an active member of NARFE. After retirement, her love of travel took her all around the United States including Alasak, Hawaii as well as Canada. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Robert T. (Tom) Jones and 3 daughters, Patricia Dixon(Jim Calvert), Cynthia (Bill) Horne, Darnell (Lindsey) Dunaway. Predeceased by parents Joe and Nellie Keen Hagan, 5 brothers: Clinton, James, Gervin, Raleigh, Grady and 4 sisters: Ruby O’Connell, Mary Norton, Madge Edwards and Louise Colton. Survived by 4 sisters: Etna Kinghorn, Kathryn Parrish, Betty Jo Allen, Norma Heintzleman (Richard). Grandchildren: Charles Shults (Elizabeth), Sandy Bruce (Perry), Christopher Shults (Maria), Abigail Cain (Jeff), Ben Dunaway (Rachel), Katie Dunaway (Patrick Quattlebaum). Great grandchildren: Charles, Amber, Elysia, Shawn, Edith, Allie and Austin as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at Murray Hill Baptist Church, 4300 Post St., Jacksonville, FL 32205 on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 10-11am with funeral services to begin at 11am. Interment to follow at 2pm at Riverside Memorial Park. Our sincere gratitude goes to the many gracious caregivers who so lovingly cared for our Mother. In lieu of flowers, offerings may be made to Queen of Angels, 1645 Barlett Ave., Orange Park, FL 32073 where Mother was cared for with love and compassion.
