DUFFY, MARK GORDON, age 58, passed away peacefully under the care of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. It was a long four month struggle with a series of serious illnesses that he bravely dealt with until the very end. He is survived by his parents LCDR Mark and Mary Duffy and his brother Brian Patrick. He was preceded in his death by brothers Dane Christopher and Michael Edward. Mark was a Special Needs fellow with a great personality and never met a person that he did not like. He has been a day workshop client of Pine Castle Inc. for over thirty five years, while living the last eight years in one of their group homes. Mark loved his family, his extended family at Pine Castle, and the FSU Seminoles football team. Proudly proclaiming for many years the “He is one of the Bobby Bowden’s boys”. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Mark will be interred at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date with a private family ceremony.
