Martin Olaf Algrim

He is survived by his loving wife, Renee and his sister, Corrine (Algrim) Boyle (Patrick deceased). Renee’s children—Catherine (Tracy son in-law), Paul, and Caroline—and grandchildren—Austin Liles (Sarah - wife), Ayden Williams, Riley Williams, Bailey Moody, Carissa Moody, Ramsey Rousseau and Cameron Crull—loved Marty dearly and affectionately called him "Papa." Corrine and Patrick’s children—Kelsey Sprenger, Rebecca Guidry, Maureen Boyle, and Rory Boyle—cherished their Uncle Marty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Marian Algrim, and brother, Arnold (Arnie) Algrim.

Marty was born in Wisconsin and graduated from Evansville High School. He worked as a farmer before moving to Florida in his 20s, eventually settling in Jacksonville, where he met his wife and warmly embraced a family of teenagers. Marty had a long career in the heating and air conditioning industry, where he was highly respected for his skill and strong work ethic.

Marty always had a joke to tell, mostly PG rated, and a laugh that could be heard miles away. His laugh is legendary. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors, and they gladly reciprocated. He was heard to describe himself as a simple man. He was passionate about football and was a Jaguar fan but never stopped being a fan of the Green Bay Packers. And was never offended being called a cheesehead.

Marty will be profoundly missed. Everyone who has known Marty, has had their life enriched by his love, generosity and his wit.

Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, US, on April 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life for Marty will follow, beginning at 11:00 am at the same location.
