He always said he was born an adult, that he skipped the kid phase, I think it was because he was left alone with his mother. His first job was in the grocery store as a bag boy, believe it's the same one that years later I dropped my rubber bullet in and when we went to retrieve it the bomb squad had been involved. After that I believe he went to Sun Oil until he joined the Coast Guard in which he crossed the Arctic Circle. After that he went into the Navy and to Japan after which he returned via Las Angeles and made his way to New York where he ultimately joined the Air Force and that is when we come in.
He liked to travel as evidenced by his biography, and ultimately he took me everywhere, Thanks to him I've seen lot of the world. We went to Spain on vacation from our house in England and don't forget we also went to Belgium to renew my mom's Drivers License.
He finally ended up working for the City of Jacksonville where he retired and has remained in Jacksonville ever since although he did continue to travel until he was unable.
He was a very sweet man and made friends everywhere he went, he would talk to everyone.
He is preceded in death by his father George and mother Ann and Brothers George and Walt. He is survived by his wife Maureen and sons Ed,Chris,Rob and Sean.
At the end of the day he was my Dad and my best friend and I miss him very much.
