

He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on Jan 9, 1926. He graduated from college in 1950 with a major degree in education and taught high school in Oklahoma from 1950 to 1954.
He was married to Donna Newberry on August 13, 1950 and they raised four wonderful children: Debbie, Jeff, Missy and Nancy.
Paul entered into the insurance business in 1954. He began working with Western Reserve Life Insurance in 1969 and retired in 2010. During those years he consecutively earned the Million Dollar Roundtable award for his achievements and won 31 trips as a top producer. He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. He was a member of the Arlington Lions Club. He coached little league baseball and guided his team into 4 division championships. He was a member of the American Legion, Revelers, Jacksonville Symphony, Elks Club. He was active in barbershopping and directed the barber shop chorus. He was a Shriner and he played the coronet, trumpet, baritone and trombone in the Shrine Band. He had a beautiful tenor voice. He was a Boy Scout leader. He loved the classic movies and theater. He was a proud Gator fan and has held season tickets for over 30 years. He was a diehard Oklahoma Sooner fan and would unabashedly sing the Sooner Fight song no matter we were during the football season.
Paul is survived by his wife Donna of 60 years. His children: Deborah Dannenfelser, Jeffrey Groves, Melissa “Missy” Groves, and Nancy Gunter. He was predeceased by one grandchild, Weston Allen Groves, and is survived by 6 remaining grandchildren: Scott Wiles, Mackenzie Wiles, Kyle Groves, Chelsea Groves, Brandon Parsons and Brittney Snyder. He has 4 great grandchildren: Nathan Groves, Aidan Wiles, Gabriel Parsons and Lilly Wiles.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, June 6, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N Jacksonville, Florida 32225.
