Paul E. Merritt, 85, passed away January 23, 2012. He was born March 30, 1926 to the late George Hardy and Bessie Lee Merritt. He was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, served in the US Army as a reconnaissance photographer, and retired from The US Postal Service. He was in the Brick Mason Union, the American Postal Worker's Union, a lover of all sports, a golfer, bowler and as a young man pitched for the NY Giants Farm Team.
Family members include his daughters, Liz (Dave) Wheeler, Mary (Steve) Callihan, Paula Bell and Margaret (Thomas) McDermott, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
He is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Betty and his brothers Homer, Phil and Jack.
