Raymond Henry Daugherty Jr.

Raymond Henry Daugherty Jr., 90, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Lively Daugherty, and Grandson, William Lanier Pearce III, MD.

Raymond was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 31st, 1935. He attended Robert E. Lee High School, where he played the trumpet in the band. He subsequently attended the University of Florida, where he played in the marching band and received a degree in Entomology. He was married to Judith Louise Lively on June 27, 1959.

Ray was so proud of his grandchildren and loved being “Paw Paw.” Ray was active at South Jacksonville Church of Christ for over 40 years, leading song services, and served as an Elder for many years. Ray was a co-founder of the Bug Out Pest Control company, a well-known Jacksonville small business, and would happily talk “bugs” to anyone who took an interest. Ray sold his stake in Bug Out to retire early and take care of his wife, parents, and family.

Raymond is survived by daughters Linda Denise Pearce, and Donna Renee Myers, who were the apple of his eye. Sons by marriage, William Lanier Pearce Jr. and Daniel Gordon Myers. Grandchildren: Christopher Royden Myers (Allie), Lauren Denise Pearce, and Caroline Renee Myers. Great grandchildren: Aden James Myers, Adeline Presley Myers, and Kai Daniel Myers. Care-givers: Charles Smith, Lorna Watson, Katy Prashanth, and Wilberto Ruiz Zambrano.

A visitation will be held on November 6, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.

The funeral service will follow on the same day, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at the same location.

A committal service is scheduled for November 6, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am, also at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
