

Mr. Mingle was a transportation driver and former member of the local Teamsters Union and member of the Baymeadows Baptist Church. Richard, a Korean war veteran who served in the U.S. Army, was a faithful and loving husband, devoted father and kind man to all. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Donald Ray Mingle, sisters Yvonne and Eleanor and brother Tommy Mingle, all of Jacksonville.
Mr. Mingle is survived by his wife Nell, sons Bryan A. Mingle and Richard A. Mingle Jr., of Jacksonville; grandsons, Samuel Mingle and Bradley Mingle, of Jacksonville, Christopher Brooks, of Oakland, Ca.; and great-grandson Carter Mingle, of Jacksonville; brothers Norman Mingle, of Statesboro, Ga., Bobby (Judy) Mingle, James (Carleen) Mingle and Russell (Joanne) Mingle of Jacksonville; sisters Marguerite Pollard, Alberta (William) Wilkins and Bonnie Pitts of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. Richard’s circle of loved ones includes the staff at Southpoint Terrace who cared for him this year.
Funeral services and a celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N., with interment following at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends at a viewing at 10 a.m. in the Chapel before the service.
